Waking up

I found myself yearning for the past. Past victories and glories, the fans, the attention, and the creativity that preceded them all. I was an illustrator and a story writer for a defunct comic book about a decade old. "Why did i ever leave that profession?" I asked my self. Drawing was my passion, storytelling is in my blood. Sometimes, people get what they dream about but most of us need to wake up.

I am one of the waker-uppers. I needed to grow up. The comicbook biz was not as sustainable as we thought it would be. We tried getting funds for our publication. We got into a meeting with a network subsidiary and they liked our product but it ended up as an initial assessment of my performance. I didn't like to leave the comicbook biz, I loved it, but i had to. After a few weeks, I got pirated into into that new media company. They wanted what I can offer and the talent that came with the package. The pay is also good.

It is the pay that tilted the scales. It is the salt that would sustain me and my future.

I now have a family, a loving wife, and an adorable daughter. If I didn't leave my dream, my blissful reality would not have come true. My creativity found a new avenue, to entertain my greatest fans, my wife and especially my daughter, whom I both love more than my work.

I had a dream and I woke up. I do miss the comic book days but i never regretted my choice. My friends are still living the old dream and I admire them for it but in my case, I needed to open my eyes and sober up.

Come to think of it, we are all now living our dreams but this time, I will never wake up. =)

AMCI sacrilege at a friend's wake

Yup, ya read it right, an URN!
Nice time to turn a wake into a sideshow exhibition!

I got this pic at solitaire6's multiply account while I was searching for a detailed incident report online.
To my surprise, I found this absurd shot that gave the term disgust a deeper darker meaning.
This photo was taken at a friend's wake, Thaddeus Reantaso's, last Sunday, June 29, around 1-2 am, 2008.

Tads was one of the victims of the typhoon Frank.

I never thought anyone in their right mind would do such a sacrilegious act. I was proven wrong.
And to think it is this same organization that can be held responsible for the death of a friend and two others!

Update: Flame me all you want but one thing is certain, guilt is entirely different from grief.

How I protect my PSP Slim & Lite

As my title states it is definitely how I protect my PSP from scratches and falls.
If you want to protect your PSP, here is my formula/reco:

First you need your PSP.
And a film protector (like hori or invisible shield) to protect it from micro scratches

and a clamshell protector and wrist strap and airform pouch from blackhorns.

DON'T get the silicone glove and aluminum protectors, they don't protect the PSP's screen!

A small carabiner.

Why these you ask?

When playing your PSP, the clamshell protects your PSP from accidental or intentional falls. Using the clamshell creates micro scratches on your psp that's why you need the protector films.
The wrist strap is a secondary defense against accidental falls. Attach the carabiner here.
Imagine your PSP is a mountain climber. That is what the carab is for.
The protector films act as a cushion between your PSP and the clamshell protector. Make sure you cover the back side also (that is where most scratches happen due to UMD door activity).
The dust caps do what they are supposed to do, protect the terminals from dust and lint build-up.
The airform pouch protects all of this when your PSP is in transit.

Just sharing in case anyone is as paranoid as I am.

I was planning on creating a magazine but the publisher was unreliable.
Now I was dropped in the middle of managing and creating a site.
Me.
An artist.
A visual artist at best.
Managing a site?
I'm all 'question marks'.
Learning wire frames.
Learning GUI specs.
Learning how to manage time.

I miss my vagrant days.

For me, I need basic ingredients. =D

In my ref:
    Beef
    Pork
    Chicken

In my cupboard:
    Cane Vinegar
    Soy Sauce
    Fish Sauce
    Sugar
    Garlic
    Onions
    Olive Oil

These are my bare essentials upon which I can create a lot of dishes.
Of course it won't hurt to add some more. =D
